1.
Must have lost our way between 95’ and today but keep me up to date on the same, same Don’t have much to say you’ve done well for yourself couple of kids, a little wealth I always got in the way It’s ok, it’s ok, live your way we’re all the same, we’re all the same, anyway Let it rain, let it rain, all day It’s ok, it’s ok, live your way
2.
You always had my back when I was stabbing yours nearly gave me a heart attack when I was breaking yours Left four years ago seeing if I could start again single pair of jeans in a 90s minivan Turn back…no return My bad, cool the burn Ended up in Neah Bay the engine gone got a job at the five and dime pitched a tent in the backyard Made enough to move again Alaska was calling me I gave you my last hint as I was leaving yours
3.
Elucify 07:07
Elucify the wanted Elucify my dreams Below the tide it haunts you Before your time expires Met that night in a canoe Rowed til’ dawn down the Bayou I know you now, will forget you Love you somehow, I do Up all night it occurred to me All my life is fantasy No use now, it’s plain to see Love me somehow, you do
4.
Forget about you once in awhile Lift me up, with no sunshine Bring my blues if you got the time Leave this life for something to find There you are, my love in kind With guitar, moonshine 10 o’clock, the sky is wide I keep in stride, begin to climb To the last hill in the city without a light With my girl and Smitty, we gonna have us a time Here we are just you and me We’ve come so far, rest our feet 6 o’clock, time to eat Start the fire and draw the heat Last of the sun is with us, before it lies With my girl and Smitty, we gonna have us a time
5.
When I get my license I’ll get right out of here With everything behind me My path is finally clear When all is said and done You were always the one They all said we were young A year is not so long When I put the tape on I can hear all your fears With an atlas and an old song I can feel you near
6.
Love LA in the day but my last LA days are paid used to love you in that way but our past is full sail in the shade Love LA when it rains the script gives way to the sand I walk the beach drink in hand can we play that part again? Holding out for Hollywood skimming tips off the second shift waiting at the corner of my goodbye turning tricks for the passby Hey LA, Hey LA Hey LA, no remains Left LA with no friends Band in a van with a dent Gonna head up north to the vines Lose ourselves in the thin storyline
7.
The Stake 03:47
Gonna take the day, down at the beach Ease the sand, beneath my feet Been a long year, short on time Forgot about myself most times With all this change in scene Lives a piece of the old me Putting in a stake North of the Bay With my family name carved in its place Will never know fame, years to come Forgot about the dream, but I’m not done Only so much time in our lives to fill this history Friends of mine, lost between the lines of misery
8.
With the TV light on me The day is just beyond me A couple good hours Before we do it all again, and again They asked me why I came here still a little unclear middle of nowhere TV dinner, cold beer…cold beer TV silhouette, may you rest TV silhouette, in the Northwest Back on the reservation bake sale for the whalers Met a vagrant sailor The water never looked so cold…so alone

about

Slow Notion, Cazadero's fourth record, builds on its West Coast-flavored, dusty indie rock with cosmic Americana flourishes and moody living room jams. Based on journeys up and down the coast from LA to Neah Bay (WA), it recalls the desolate Mission towns, desert drifters, houseboat communities and disenfranchised creatives encountered along the way.
